Shift Varying Shifts (United States of America) Standard Weekly Hours 20 Summary The NP/PA, Surgical - Inpatient ENT functions in a collaborative practice with physicians in the inpatient setting. Autonomously performs patient assessment, diagnosis, and intervention according to approved protocols. Develops and maintains own volume of patients under the supervision of a physician. Provides clinic coverage and may round for physicians during periods of absence. Prescribes a variety of modalities to meet wellness and illness needs, up to and including hospital rounding/consultation, assisting in surgery if appropriate and prescriptive authority. 1-2 years of acute care experience highly preferred. Acute Care Certification required (Pediatric Nurse Practitioner). This is a part-time position - 20 hours per week (2 10-hour shifts). Weekends included on a rotating schedule. Education and Experience Advanced Practice Registered Nurses Master's Degree in Nursing as Advanced Practice Registered Nurse and minimum 1 year of pediatric nursing experience or related specialized area strongly preferred. Physician Assistants Master's Degree in Physician Assistant Studies and minimum 1 year of experience in related specialized area strongly preferred. Licensure, Registration, and/or Certification Advanced Practice Registered Nurses Current Texas professional registered nurse license Current Texas professional advanced practice registered nurse license Certified as an RNFA preferred Certified as a Family or Pediatric Nurse Practitioner Current Basic Life Support (CPR) is required. Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) is required. Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required when assigned to Cardiology and Cardiothoracic Surgery Pediatric nurse practitioner acute care certification required when assigned to Cardiology, Cardiothoracic Surgery, Neurosurgery and Pediatric Surgery/Trauma Physician Assistants Current Texas professional physician assistant license. Certified as a PA-C Current Basic Life Support (CPR) required. Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) required.
