**Location:**Dodson Medical Office Building**Department:**AYA Oncology**Shift:**First Shift (United States of America)**Standard Weekly Hours:**40**Summary:**We are searching for a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant who is motivated to work in Hematology/Oncology with Adolescent and Young Adult patients.This full-time position will support our Adolescent and Young Adult (AYA) population.Prior Hematology/Oncology experience preferred.* Functions in collaborative practice with physician(s) in the inpatient and outpatient settings for medically complex oncology patients.* Autonomously performs patient assessment, diagnosis, and intervention according to approved protocols.* Supports physician to develop and maintain patients. Collaborates with specialties and maintains continuity of care.* Provides coverage for physician(s) during periods of absence.* Prescribes a variety of modalities to meet wellness and illness needs, up to and including hospital admission/discharge and prescriptive authority.* Perform procedures including but not limited to bone marrow aspirates and biopsies and lumbar punctures.**Education/Experience:***Advanced Practice Registered Nurses* • Master’s Degree in Nursing as Advanced Practice Registered Nurse. • Minimum 2 years of pediatric nursing experience or related specialized area strongly preferred.*Physician Assistants* • Master’s Degree in Physician Assistant Studies strongly preferred • Minimum of two years Pediatric primary/specialty or acute care setting experience OR 2 years' experience in related allied health field (i.e. family practice setting with heavy component of pediatric patients) strongly preferred.**Certification/Licensure:***Advanced Practice Registered Nurses* • Current Texas professional registered nurse license • Current Texas professional advance practice registered nurse license • Recognition from the Texas State Board of Nurse Examiners as an Advanced Practice Nurse • Certification as Pediatric or Family Practice Nurse Practitioner • Current Basic Life Support (CPR) required • Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) preferred\**Physician Assistants* • Current Texas professional physician assistant license • Recognition from the Texas State Medical Board as a Physician Assistant. • Certification as a Physician Assistant PA-C required. • Current Basic Life Support (CPR) required • Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) preferred\*\* PALS certification is **required** when assigned to Anesthesiology, Care Team, Complex Care, Fostering Health, **H/O,** Nephrology, and Neurology departments.#CCPN #LI-RV1**About Cook Children’s:**Our not-for-profit organization is comprised of a flagship medical center in Fort Worth, Texas, a new medical center in Prosper, Texas, a physician network, home health company, surgery centers, health plan, health services, and health foundation.
