What You'll Do:

• Provide safe and effective perioperative nursing care in the operating room.
• Assist with surgeries, including C-sections, and monitor patients in the PACU.
• Support a multi-disciplined team in a rural hospital setting.
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other OR staff to deliver quality patient care.
• Follow all safety protocols and maintain sterile procedures in accordance with hospital standards.
• Be flexible to float across departments as needed, supporting overall department operations.

What You Need:

• Active RN license in Louisiana or eligible for licensure
• ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications
• Minimum of 1 year OR experience in a hospital environment
• Epic Electronic Medical Record (EMR) experience preferred

• Experience working in a rural hospital or similar setting
• Ability to arrive within 30 minutes for on-call needs

About the Assignment: This position is based at a small rural hospital where the OR team handles diverse surgical cases, including surgeries, C-sections, PACU, and Endoscopy. The unit typically admits around 10 patients daily, with a team that values collaboration and flexibility. The hospital may require nurses to participate in emergency response teams, staying on-site until events pass, with pay impacts communicated as needed. The initial week will include buddy call duties to help acclimate. On-call requirements include one day per week and every fifth weekend, with staff arriving within 30 minutes of call, supporting potential emergency or trauma cases as they arise.
