We are a leader in the manufacturing industry and are seeking an Employment Counsel to join our corporate team. This in-house role offers the opportunity to provide strategic legal advice on a broad spectrum of employment and HR matters, ensuring compliance with labor laws and supporting the organization’s growth. This is a unique chance to work in a fast-paced environment while shaping HR policies and practices for a global manufacturing leader. Responsibilities Provide legal advice on employment compliance, including worker classification, wage and hour laws, and workplace safety. Draft, review, and negotiate employment contracts, separation agreements, and restrictive covenants (non-compete and confidentiality agreements). Oversee employment-related aspects of corporate transactions, such as mergers and acquisitions. Collaborate with HR managers to address compliance issues, conduct internal investigations, and manage sensitive employment matters. Supervise the Corporate HR team and provide strategic leadership on discipline, terminations, wage disputes, and other HR-related issues. Support and coordinate the defense of workers\' compensation claims. Must-Have Skills Juris Doctor (JD). Minimum 5 years of experience in employment law. HR experience. Solid experience in drafting and negotiating contracts (non-disclosure agreements, manufacturing supply agreements, vendor contracts, brokerage agreements, IP licensing, equipment leasing, loan agreements/notes, warehousing agreements, real estate leases and purchases, and M&A). Nice-to-Have Skills Experience with employment aspects of mergers and acquisitions. Previous in-house counsel experience within the manufacturing industry. Strong interpersonal communication.
