Front Desk / Host

Position Snapshot The Front Desk/Host positions ensure guests’ initial impressions are positive and welcoming. The role requires a strong communicator who guides guests through retail, game rental, and dining experiences. Responsibilities Deliver an unparalleled guest experience through the best combination of food, drinks, and games in an ideal environment for celebrating fun. Act as ambassador to the building, greeting guests with a positive attitude and enthusiasm while coordinating game rentals, merchandise sales, and telephone calls. Smile and greet guests upon entering; bid farewell to guests leaving, ensuring everything was satisfactory and inviting them to return. Prepare for the shift by stocking supplies (menus, silverware, Power cards, gift cards, etc.) and reviewing cleanliness and organization of the front desk and host station. Ensure menus are stocked and properly cleaned and maintained; restock supplies as needed. Maintain a favorable working relationship with all other company team members to foster a cooperative and harmonious working climate. Notify the manager of any guests that are perceived to be unhappy; drive table‑turn timing by scouting open tables, bussing, and cleaning tables as necessary. Rotates seating appropriately following guidelines to ensure fairness and balance in the dining areas. Manage flow from the front doors, efficiently helping guests with needs and directing them as needed. Manage wait times and communicate information as needed to guests, team members, and managers. Deliver silverware as guests are seated; make timely and accurate calculations of bill transactions. Process transactions and handle reconciliation of any monies from the bank. Complete “To‑Go” order transactions for guests and ensure accuracy. Sell merchandise from the front desk, if applicable. Qualifications Restaurant, retail, or cashier experience preferred, but not required. Able to communicate effectively with multiple guests while generating enthusiasm for D&B. Dressed in accordance with dress guidelines, looking neat, clean, and professional at all times. Skilled at calmly responding to dissatisfied guests and calling issues to manager’s attention. Must be able to read and communicate in English. Must be at least 16 years of age. Physical Demands Work days, nights, and/or weekends as required. Work in a noisy, fast‑paced environment with distracting conditions. Read and write handwritten notes. Lift and carry up to 30 pounds. Move about the facility and stand for long periods of time.
