As an Alpha Omega Hospice Patient Volunteer, you'll become part of a patient's care team while gaining valuable experience in compassionate, patient-centered healthcare.

What Do Volunteers Do?

Provide companionship through:

• Conversation and life-story sharing
• Reading, music, games, and activities
• Watching television together
• Simply being a caring presence

No clinical experience required.

Letters of Recommendation

Personalized Letters of Recommendation are available for dedicated Volunteers after a minimum of one academic year of service.

Volunteer Commitment

• One academic year preferred
• Visit 1x/week or 2x/month
• Typical visits last 30–60 minutes
• Flexible scheduling around classes

What We Provide

• One-on-one patient matching within approximately 15 minutes of your preferred area
• Volunteer Coordinator accompaniment on your first visit
• Ongoing support and mentorship
• All training provided at no cost
