Commercial Electrical Estimator – Drive Bidding Precision and Growth for Coastal Electric of Florida

The Opportunity:

You will play a pivotal role in driving company growth by crafting precise, competitive estimates for commercial and industrial electrical projects across the greater Jacksonville market. How You Will Make an Impact:

• Analyze bid invitations, specifications, and contract documents to establish accurate commercial scopes.
• Execute detailed digital quantity takeoffs for electrical distribution, lighting, controls, and site systems.
• Build complete estimates in ConEst while managing labor units, material pricing, and productivity factors.
• Solicit, review, and level vendor quotes to eliminate scope gaps and commercial risks prior to submission.
• Coordinate cross-functionally with general contractors, design teams, and field leaders during active bidding phases.
• Lead internal bid review meetings to present proposed pricing, margins, labor strategies, and project risks.
• Turn awarded projects over to field leadership smoothly to ensure seamless execution and budget compliance.

Required Qualifications & Experience:

• Minimum 3 years of commercial electrical estimating experience (or equivalent field leadership background).
• Valid driver's license and ability to attend site visits across the greater Jacksonville area.
• Strong working knowledge of commercial electrical systems and the National Electrical Code.
• Proven ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, single-line diagrams, schedules, and addenda.
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office, Excel, and digital takeoff software such as Bluebeam (must have).
• Demonstrated capability to analyze vendor quotes, calculate labor costs, and recognize contractual risks.
• Excellent mathematical, organizational, and time-management skills to handle hard bid deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications & Experience:

• 5 or more years of commercial electrical estimating experience (or equivalent field leadership background).
• Hands-on proficiency with ConEst or comparable electrical estimating software.
• Construction experience focused in the Jacksonville, Orlando, or Palm Coast markets.
• Electrical design-build experience is preferred.
