About the Role
The Company is seeking a VP, Underwriting Executive for Individual Life. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and developing a high-performing underwriting team, providing technical underwriting guidance, and managing relationships with assigned clients. This role requires a hands-on leader with extensive individual life reinsurance underwriting experience, a deep knowledge of life underwriting principles, and a proven track record of delivering high-quality underwriting decisions. The VP will also be expected to maintain a small active underwriting caseload, foster a collaborative team environment, and contribute to the advancement of underwriting practices. Candidates for this role at the company should have strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels. A positive, collaborative, and inclusive leadership style is essential, with a demonstrated commitment to professional development and team success. The role demands a professional with excellent communication and relationship management skills, who can build and maintain strong client relationships and is adept at monitoring client and business performance. While a Bachelor's degree is preferred, professional designations or coursework in relevant fields are highly valued. The VP will also be expected to represent the company with clients and within the industry, and a willingness to travel periodically is required.
