Emergency Room Registered Nurse (RN)

We are seeking a dedicated Emergency Room Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment. The ideal candidate will provide critical care to patients in emergency situations and work collaboratively with healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Shift Details

Unit Type: Emergency Room
Shift Length: 12-hour shifts
Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
Shift Times: Various shifts available (11:00 AM - 11:00 PM included)
Weekend and Holiday Requirements: Varies based on departmental needs
Floating Requirements: Will float to the Observation unit and a freestanding ER at least once a week

Responsibilities

Deliver evidence-based care to patients in the Emergency Room setting
Participate in patient assessments, triage, and clinical decision-making
Administer medications and treatments as prescribed
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to enhance patient care and safety
Monitor and interpret vital signs, lab results, and medical conditions
Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient information and care

Qualifications

Years of Experience: Minimum of 2 years in Emergency Room nursing
Required Certifications:
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
- NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale)
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program - preferred)
Driver's License: Required for candidates located outside of a specified radius
Recent experience in a Level 1 or Level 2 Trauma Center is highly preferred

Additional Information

Department Features:
- 20 beds, 5 trauma bays, and 10 observation units
- Separate triage area with 3 beds
- In-house security available 24/7
Nurse Ratios:
- 1:4 in zones, 1:6 in Fast Track, 1:5 in Observation, and 1:1 in ICU/Trauma
Technical Skills: RNs are required to read and interpret cardiac monitor strips
Orientation: 1 week of onboarding, including unit-specific training
Fingernail policy: Artificial nails are prohibited in all patient care departments
