Senior Research Finance Analyst

Kforce has a client in Boston, MA that is seeking a Senior Research Finance Analyst to provide financial management and analysis support for research programs, grants, and sponsored projects. This role is responsible for budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, compliance monitoring, and advising principal investigators and operational leaders on financial matters related to research funding. Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, monitor, and manage research project budgets and forecasts
• Analyze financial performance and provide recommendations to support decision-making
• Review and reconcile research-related expenditures and funding sources
• Monitor grant and contract spending to ensure compliance with sponsor requirements and organizational policies
• Prepare financial reports, projections, and variance analyses for leadership and project stakeholders
• Support proposal development, budget preparation, and funding applications
• Collaborate with researchers, project managers, and administrative teams to resolve financial issues
• Assist with audits and provide necessary financial documentation
• Identify process improvement opportunities and support implementation of best practices
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field
• 5+ years of financial analysis, grant accounting, research finance, or related experience
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
• Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting
• Proficiency in Excel and financial management systems
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work with multiple stakeholders

• Experience supporting grants, contracts, or sponsored research programs
• Knowledge of research funding regulations and compliance requirements
• Advanced Excel and data analysis skills
• Experience in healthcare, higher education, nonprofit, or research environments
