RN - Med Surg/Telemetry

Position: RN MS/Tele (Ortho)

Shift: Night 3x12-Hour (19:00 - 07:30)

Shift Hours/Contract Length: Weekend Requirement: Every Other; 6 weekend shifts

Call Off Policy: Facility is allowed to call off 1 shift per 2 weeks.

Accept First-Time Travelers: Yes

Locals Accepted? Radius Rule: Yes. Refer to the Submittal Instructions for radius rule criteria.

Pending License Accepted? No. Must have an active SC or multistate license.

Charting: 1 yr of EPIC experience required

Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS

Required Clinical Skills: Must have Ortho Experience

Unit Details and Floating: Ratios: 1:5-6 Adult 26-bed orthopedic spine unit specializing in spinal surgeries (laminectomies, spinal fusions, discectomies) with integrated pain management, physical therapy, & mobility support

Patient Diagnoses Include: Med/Surg, Tele, cardiac, low-risk ACS, TIAs, diabetes, hypertension, COPD, dehydration, chest pain, DVT, & PE

Special Procedures: Bedside lumbar puncture, post Cath (radial/femoral), post-surgical care, post renal biopsy, CT Angio, and Heparin drips

Floating: While Prisma Health prioritizes keeping staff in their home unit, agency staff are required to float to other units or campuses as needed. Floating is limited to areas where staff are qualified and have documented competencies
