Job Description Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) reports to the Plasma Center Manager and supports plasma center operations. Responsibilities Determine donor eligibility, including informed consent, AIDS education, self‑exclusion, medical history interview and acceptance requirements, physical examination, blood testing, and review of serological test results. Manage donor adverse events, evaluate donor reactions, follow SOPs for medical emergencies, and facilitate donor transport to emergency care facilities. Coordinate with the Center Physician or Medical Affairs for unacceptable findings and provide medical or technical guidance. Support employee vaccination programs (Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu) and handle employee incidents per occupational health and ER procedures. Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and support investigations related to pandemic threats within the local community. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent, or a graduate degree from a recognized nursing program meeting state requirements. Licensed or certified as LPN or LVN in the state where responsibilities will be assigned. Current CPR and AED certification. State‑required basic IV therapy training. Completion of FDA‑approved training for BioLife Medical Support Specialist. Two years of experience in a clinical or hospital setting.
