Controls Technician - Data Center Project
Location: Local Candidates Only (No Per Diem)Duration: 4+ Months with Potential Extension
Schedule: Monday-Saturday | 50-60 Hours per Week
Shift: 5:00 AM - 3:30 PM (Saturday OT typically half-day)
Pay: $28.00-$42.00/hr DOE
90-Day Performance Review with Potential Pay Increase Position Overview We are seeking experienced Controls Technicians to support power monitoring and building automation systems on a large-scale data center project. This role involves instrumentation installation, calibration, troubleshooting, commissioning, and control system wiring in an active construction environment. Key Responsibilities
- Terminate control wiring on terminal blocks
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and BIM models
- Install and terminate wiring for control panels, field devices, and instrumentation
- Install wiring in existing conduit and cable tray systems
- Troubleshoot instrumentation, I/O systems, and control circuits
- Calibrate sensors, transmitters, flow switches, and instrumentation devices
- Perform testing, commissioning, and startup activities
- Support PLC system testing and commissioning alongside engineers

- Water/Wastewater Controls Technician
- Industrial Plant Electrician
- Minimum 4 years of low-voltage construction experience
- Minimum 1 year of Controls Technician experience
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision
- Experience with:
- Control wiring terminations
- Instrumentation wiring
- RS-485 / Modbus communications
- Shielded twisted pair cable termination
- Electrical panels and junction boxes
- Ability to read electrical drawings and schematics
- Recent Data Center experience
- OSHA 10 Certification
- Bilingual (English/Spanish)
- Experience with PLC systems and commissioning activities
- Must be comfortable working in active construction and outdoor environments
