About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Cardiopulmonary Intensive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years in cardiac ICU experience, including CCU or CVICU. License: Current nursing license required. Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS required. Must-Have: Strong cardiac intensive care experience. Ability to manage complex cardiac devices. Experience with hemodynamic monitoring and invasive lines. Expertise in interpreting and managing dysrhythmias. Description: The role requires a nurse with substantial cardiac ICU experience. Experience in managing advanced cardiac devices such as LVAD, Impella, and IABP is essential. Candidates should be adept in caring for cardiac and medical intensive care patients. Knowledge of post-cardiac surgery care is necessary. The nurse will handle patients requiring continuous IV sedation and ventilatory support. Skills in administering blood products and interpreting arterial blood gas results are needed. Candidates should demonstrate proficiency in managing patients with multi-system organ dysfunction. Experience with management of CRRT and ECMO is preferred. The position involves caring for patients with a 2:1 patient ratio. Collaboration with interdisciplinary teams for comprehensive patient care is expected. The nurse will participate in protocols for infection prevention and isolation precautions. Ability to work under pressure and address complications promptly is crucial. Flexibility to float to other units as required is a component of this role. All necessary competencies must be documented for floating to other areas. Comprehensive orientation and training for the role will be provided.
