Now hiring for a Medical Office Assistant in Alexandria, LA. Pay Rate: $14.00/hour (higher pay possible based on experience). Schedule: Monday-Friday, approximately 8:00 AM to 6:30 PM.

Job Duties

• Greet and welcome patients, creating a positive and professional experience.
• Answer incoming phone calls and assist patients with questions and scheduling needs.
• Schedule, confirm, and manage patient appointments.
• Enter patient information, notes, and updates into office systems using the doctor's tablet.
• Assist with patient flow to ensure efficient office operations.
• Support patients with therapies and basic patient-care activities as trained.
• Assist with EMG scans and other office procedures as directed.
• Process patient payments and assist with insurance information and documentation.
• Maintain clean, organized patient areas and workspaces.
• Communicate professionally and compassionately with patients, especially those experiencing pain or discomfort.
• Provide administrative and clerical support to office staff and healthcare providers.
• Help ensure every patient receives excellent customer service and a positive office experience.

Education Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Associate degree, business coursework, or administrative support training preferred.

Experience Requirements

• At least one year of administrative, office support, receptionist, or clerical experience preferred.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and common office software.
• Professional demeanor with strong attention to detail and customer service skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working in a medical, chiropractic, healthcare, or patient-facing office environment.
• Bilingual English/Spanish skills is a major plus.
• Experience assisting with patient care activities, therapies, or medical procedures is a plus.

Physical Capabilities

• Ability to remain seated or stand for extended periods while performing office tasks.
• Frequent use of computers, telephones, and other standard office equipment.
• Occasional lifting or moving of office supplies and materials up to 20 pounds.
• Ability to communicate effectively with coworkers, customers, and visitors.
