Senior Benefits Specialist - MidMarket

Summary This position is responsible for leading benefits-related interactions with external and internal customers by consistently exceeding expectations with Middle Market clients. Under minimal supervision, the role uses extensive knowledge of Insperity Benefit Plans to assist and educate clients and Service Team members. It maintains a lead role for benefits information and processes for key client contacts, researches and formulates responses to complex benefit issues, ensures compliance with benefit laws and regulations, and delivers benefit education sessions in person and virtually to worksite employees. The role also serves as a leader on benefits projects and interprets benefits and related policies and guidelines. Responsibilities Serve as dedicated Benefits Specialist for Middle Market clients. Maintain a lead role for benefits information and processes for key client contacts, ensuring operational benefit processes are followed. Identify, analyze, and resolve problems effectively and make timely, informed decisions. Research and formulate responses to complex benefit issues that could impact the client relationship. Ensure Insperity and clients comply with benefit laws and regulations by preparing clear, concise communication and presentations. Attend all benefit-related training and deliver benefit education presentations to worksite employees in-person and virtually. Act as a leader on benefit projects, ensuring completion of objectives and decision making. Maintain internal relationships to ensure timely exchange of information and due diligence for unique client circumstances. Educate clients on policies and procedures regarding all benefits. Serve as liaison on new and existing technologies and benefits products. Recognize issues, research root causes, and recommend solutions with internal/external partners. Identify trends and recommend improvements, providing data and facts. Collaborate with internal partners on new laws, trends, and risk mitigation. Provide pertinent information to team based on client interactions. Serve as mentor, subject matter expert, or project team member to improve processes and performance. Analyze benefit information supplied by clients and worksite employees, reviewing reports and documents that impact coverage. Participate in prospective client meetings to provide benefit plan options overview. Support process and audit efforts to ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley, ERISA, and HIPAA. Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor’s Degree preferred. Five to seven years of experience in customer service, HR onboarding, or benefit administration, or a minimum of two years equivalent experience with Insperity or the PEO industry. Five to seven years of experience in healthcare claims and benefit administration required. Group Benefit Associate (GBA) certification preferred. Demonstrated ability to serve customers in a team environment and present benefit-related information with excellence. Strong customer-focused interaction skills via phone, email, and in person. Effective communication of accurate information to internal teammates and external clients. Ability to interact with multiple internal and external business units. Clear and concise presentation and written communication skills. Ability to handle multiple projects and tasks simultaneously efficiently and timely. Proficient in Microsoft Office (Intermediate required, advanced preferred). Compensation & Travel Travel: Yes, up to 30% of time. Insperity provides a reasonable compensation range for each posted role in accordance with applicable pay‑transparency laws. Compensation range: $64,800–$73,725.
