The Executive Director is responsible for the overall management and daily operations of the Assisted Living Facility, ensuring quality care, resident satisfaction, and compliance with all regulations. They ensure the facility and grounds are well-maintained, uphold company policies, and implement corrective action plans as needed.

Executive Director Duties and Responsibilities:  

• Responsible for all operations within the Assisted Living Facility, interacting with staff and residents, potential residents, or their family members or representatives, as necessary; builds and maintains strong working relationships with the management team. 

• Acts as a hands-on leader who supervises, directs, and motivates staff; provides assistance as needed to ensure the facility operates optimally. 

• Attracts, retains, and develops top talent. Ensuring that the facility is scheduled and staffed appropriately meeting all local/state regulatory requirements. 

• Responsible for recruiting and hiring high-quality and engaged staff and ensuring they are appropriately trained and developed to meet the needs of residents. 

• Responsible for maintaining positive resident relations and being accessible and approachable to residents and their families. 

• Ensures buildings, grounds, and property are in good order in partnership with Divisional operations support and the corporate office. 

• Enforces current Company policies and procedures, ensuring that the Branch is also in congruence with local, state, and federal guidelines. 

• Foster clear and consistent communication with residents, families, and staff. 

• Develop and implement corrective action plans following survey inspections. 

• Cultivate a strong public relations program that benefits the facility and the local community. 

• Build and maintain collaborative relationships with medical professionals and other healthcare organizations. 

• Ensures an effective Performance Improvement (QAPI) process is in place to identify and resolve facility problems.  

• Perform all other duties, as assigned. 

Executive Director Skills and Abilities:  

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 

• Strong interpersonal and team development skills. 

• Analytical and problem-solving skills. 

• The ability to understand process development and improvement.   

• Be able to effectively communicate with a diverse range of audiences and settings: properly handle emotional situations, manage resources to accomplish resident care objectives, assess operational, staffing, and fiscal needs, analyze complex written documents, and work long and irregular hours.   

• Possess excellent management skills including the delegation of responsibility to subordinates. 

• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.   

• Demonstrate basic computer knowledge and ability with an aptitude to learn company applications. Microsoft Office Suite: MS Word, MS Access, MS Excel, E-mail, Outlook, Internet Explorer. 

Executive Director Education and Experience:  

• 5 years of skilled nursing facility experience, preffered. 

• Bachelor’s degree in healthcare or business administration, preffered 

Physical Requirements:   

• Must be able to adapt to a flexible work schedule.  

• Must be available up to 24 hours a day for on-call/emergencies support.  

• Walking, reaching, bending, lifting, extended sitting, grasping, fine hand coordination, pushing and pulling, ability to distinguish smells and temperatures, all with or without the aid of mechanical devices is required.
