OTR Truck Driver

The manufacturing industry relies heavily on truck drivers to transport raw materials and finished goods. Truck drivers are essential to the supply chain and play a vital role in ensuring that products are delivered on time and in good condition. Specific expectations of a Truck Driver may include but not limited to: Job Description Reliable and dependable: Truck drivers must meet delivery deadlines and commitments. They must also be able to work independently and manage their time effectively. Safe and responsible: Truck drivers must operate their vehicles safely and in accordance with all applicable laws and regulations. They must also be able to handle and secure cargo properly. Knowledgeable and skilled: Truck drivers must have a good understanding of truck maintenance and repair, as well as route planning and navigation. They must also be able to communicate effectively with customers and other stakeholders. Be proactive in identifying and resolving problems: Truck drivers should be able to think critically and solve problems on their own. They should also be able to communicate any problems they encounter to their dispatchers or other team members promptly. Be flexible and adaptable: The manufacturing industry is constantly changing, and truck drivers need to be able to adapt to change. They may be asked to deliver to new locations, haul new types of cargo, or work different hours. Be customer-oriented: Truck drivers are often the first point of contact between a manufacturer and its customers. They should be able to represent the company in a professional and courteous manner. Transport materials to, from, and within the job site. Apply various products using provided truck. Maintain daily vehicle mileage and inspection logs. Travel for over a few days at a time. Must keep truck in a clean and orderly condition. Follow directions of manager as to daily tasks and expectations for each specific project or jobsite. Perform other duties when necessary. Be willing to travel on short notice. Physical Requirements Must have good reflexes, strength, and range of motion in arms and legs Be able to walk 20 minutes a day without exertion. Sit for long periods of time. Repeat the same movements. Enter and exit vehicle by stepping or kneeling. Use muscles to lift, push, pull, or carry heavy objects if required.
