PositionOverview TrafficControlSupervisorIIisamid‑levelfieldleadershiproleresponsibleforoverseeingtrafficcontrolcrews,coordinatingcomplexworkzoneoperations,andensuringfullcompliancewiththeVirginiaWorkAreaProtectionManual(VWAPM),projectspecifications,andallcompanysafetystandards. Thispositionservesasacriticalfieldleader—providingadvanceddecision‑making,crewoversight,qualitycontrol,anddirectcommunicationwithcontractors,inspectors,andcompanymanagement.SupervisorIIisexpectedtomanagehigher‑riskworkzones,traindevelopingsupervisors,respondtoescalations,andrepresentSpiveyServiceswiththehighestlevelofprofessionalism. Thisisanexcellentopportunityforexperiencedsupervisorsreadytotakeonbroaderresponsibility,leadmultiplefieldoperations,andcontributetocontinuousimprovementwithintheTrafficControlDivision. KeyResponsibilities Overseetrafficcontrolcrewsandensureallworkzonesaresetup,monitored,andremovedaccordingtoVWAPMandproject‑specificrequirements. Conductdailyfieldaudits,verifycompliance,andexecutecorrectiveactionswhennecessary. Performbothstationaryandmobilelaneclosuresonlimited‑accesshighways,ensuringpropersetup,monitoring,andbreakdownoftrafficcontroldevicesinaccordancewithstateandfederalsafetystandards. Serveastheprimaryon‑sitepointofcontactforcontractors,inspectors,andcompanyleadershipforassignedprojects. Reviewandinterpretcomplextrafficcontrolplans;ensurecrewsexecutelayoutsaccuratelyandefficiently. Coordinatedailyjobreadiness,staffing,andequipmentdeployment. Adjustworkzonesetupsinrealtimetorespondtoemergencyconditions,projectchanges,orsafetyconcerns. Providehands‑ontrainingtonewemployees,Flaggers,TrafficControlAssistants,andSupervisorIpersonnel. Modelandenforcehighstandardsofsafety,productivity,andprofessionalism. Participateinonboarding,skillsassessments,anddevelopmentofjuniorsupervisors. Maintainaccuratelogsforjobactivities,crewattendance,safetyobservations,andincidentreports. Ensurevehicles,equipment,andmaterialsassignedtocrewsareproperlymaintained,stocked,andinspected. CommunicatedailyoperationalupdatestotheTrafficOperationsManagerordepartmenthead. Championasafety-firstcultureacrossallcrewsandsites. Conducthazardassessmentsandleadtailgatemeetingswhensupervisingmultiplecrews. Respondtoandhelpmanageanyfieldincidentsornear-missesinaccordancewithcompanyprotocols.
