Technical Communications SpecialistWe are seeking a highly organized and creative Technical Communications Specialist to develop, manage, and deliver high-quality communications and technical documentation for a diverse stakeholder audience. This role requires a unique blend of technical writing expertise, communication strategy, project coordination, and creative design capabilities. The ideal candidate can translate complex technical concepts into clear, engaging, and user-friendly content while collaborating closely with subject matter experts to ensure accuracy and effectiveness.This individual will support a variety of communication channels and publication efforts, including newsletters, technical documentation, web content, SharePoint sites, training materials, surveys, reports, and other internal and external communications.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop, write, edit, and maintain technical and business communications, including:NewslettersUser guides and manualsTechnical documentationTraining materialsOnline help contentInternal and external communicationsWeb and SharePoint contentPartner with engineers, product managers, subject matter experts, and business stakeholders to gather information and ensure content accuracy.Translate complex technical information into clear, concise, and engaging content for both technical and non-technical audiences.Lead the planning, development, revision, and publication of documentation and communication materials while ensuring consistency, quality, and adherence to organizational standards.Coordinate publication production activities, including editing, proofing, quality control, graphic design support, document processing, printing services, and vendor management.Review and edit content from multiple contributors to ensure cohesive messaging, consistent formatting, and alignment with style guides and company standards.Support and maintain communication platforms, including internal websites, SharePoint sites, newsletters, survey tools, and other communication channels.Compile, analyze, and present survey results and communication metrics to support business decision-making.Manage multiple projects simultaneously, proactively communicate status updates, and adjust priorities to meet evolving business needs.Provide document consultation, research, writing, and communication support across a broad range of initiatives.Support team objectives by contributing to additional projects and communication efforts as needed.Required QualificationsExperience in technical writing, communications, journalism, English, public relations, marketing, or a related field.Proven experience creating and editing technical and business communications.Demonstrated ability to communicate complex concepts in a concise, understandable manner.Strong editing, proofreading, and quality assurance skills.Experience collaborating with subject matter experts and cross-functional teams.Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, SharePoint, and content management tools.Preferred QualificationsExperience developing and managing newsletters.Familiarity with engineering, utility, or technical industry terminology.Experience supporting web content, SharePoint sites, and internal communication platforms.Graphic design, visual communication, or content creation experience.Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, or similar design tools.Strong brainstorming and creative problem-solving abilities.Experience analyzing survey data and preparing reports.Desired Candidate ProfileThe ideal candidate combines technical expertise with creativity and enjoys collaborating with a variety of stakeholders.
