Position SummaryA Joint Interest Billing (“JIB”) accountant is needed within the JIB/AR group to support the Accounting Department. This person would report to the Accounting Manager and is located in Downtown Houston, TX. Level and salary commensurate with experience.Essential Job FunctionsAssist with monthly joint interest billing processProcess monthly rebills as requiredApply cash for accounts receivable paymentsResolve owner inquiriesPrepare and record journal entries related to JIB accounts as requiredPrepare account reconciliations, complete JI Audit requests and maintain SOX complianceAssist with special projects or other accounting related assignments as requestedThis job description is not intended to be an all-inclusive list of duties and responsibilities of the position. Minimum QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related degreeStrong analytical skillsStrong Excel skillsAbility to work in a fast-paced environment while ensuring accuracyAbility to communicate effectively within all areas of the organizationProficient in Microsoft Office applications specifically Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and OutlookThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
