About This Role
Highly responsible position involving the development, management and implementation of daily programs based on the readiness of the children. Responsible for management of staff and maintaining relationships with families.
What You'll DoAssists the Senior Site Manager with the overall administration and daily operations of the Child Development Center while also mentoring the staff in the classrooms. Develops and implements engaging, developmentally appropriate programming that supports each child’s social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development. Ensures the care, safety, and well-being of all children. Maintains accurate records, including staff schedules, weekly lesson plans, action plans, incident and accident reports, attendance records, inventory, and annual staff evaluations. Provides leadership during staff meetings and professional development trainings and communicates effectively with families, staff, community partners, and outside agencies. Regular and punctual attendance is essential to this position.
RequirementsKNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY: Extensive knowledge in the teaching and training of children; knowledge of the administration of a day care facility; ability to maintain records; ability to write reports; ability to communicate professionally with children, staff, parents, outside agencies; ability to supervise. Required to take 18 hours of professional development courses to meet state guidelines.
EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING: Bachelor's degree in early childhood with student teaching and must have two (2) years of working experience with young children or hold a bachelor's degree in a closely related field and have three (3) years of working experience with young children or any equivalent combination of experience and education. Must meet all standards for NAEYC accreditation.
