Full-Charge Bookkeeper

Job Summary We are seeking a Full Charge Bookkeeper for a direct hire opportunity with a construction company in the Poway, CA area. This role is ideal for an accounting professional with strong construction bookkeeping experience who enjoys owning the full bookkeeping cycle, supporting accurate project financials, and partnering closely with project managers, operations, vendors, and subcontractors. This opportunity offers a stable Monday‑Friday schedule, supportive leadership, and a collaborative employee‑owned work environment. The right candidate will bring hands‑on experience with AIA billing, job costing, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll support, QuickBooks Desktop, and month‑end close activity. Key Responsibilities Prepare and manage construction progress billings, including AIA G702/G703 billing documents, in accordance with contract terms. Oversee accounts receivable activity, monitor aging, support collections, and reconcile customer accounts for month‑end and year‑end reporting. Review and process subcontractor invoices, purchase orders, vendor bills, and project‑related expenses with accurate job cost coding. Support payroll and labor costing by ensuring labor hours are recorded accurately and allocated to the proper projects. Partner with accounting leadership, project managers, and operations teams to analyze project costs, identify variances, and prepare financial reports. Maintain organized accounting records, support audit documentation, follow GAAP and company policies, and contribute to process improvements and internal controls. Compensation and Benefits Direct hire opportunity. Employee‑owned company environment. Salary range: $85,000 to $87,000 per year. 90‑day review with opportunities for growth.
