Project Manager

SMS is hiring Project Mangers for our new and busy BIM contract. The Project Manager will be responsible for managing Phase 4 Modernization implementation activities ensuring successful installation, testing, cutover, and System Acceptance of modernized Base Area Network infrastructure. Up to 25% travel will be required for CONUS travel to oversee base projects as needed.

Job Responsibilities

• Manage Phase 4 Modernization implementation activities ensuring successful installation, testing, cutover, and System Acceptance of modernized Base Area Network infrastructure
• Coordinate installation teams, schedules, and resources across all modernization activities
• Ensure execution aligns with PMO-approved System Planning, Requirements, Implementation Plan (SPRIP) and 18-month modernization timeline
• Manage Preliminary Integration Reviews (PIR) and Critical Integration Reviews (CIR) with Government stakeholders and base organizations
• Coordinate Integration Plan Acceptance processes ensuring timely Government approvals
• Manage Network Integration Lab operations and Qualification Testing activities
• Coordinates installation schedules, Authorized Service Interruptions, and base coordination requirements
• Manages equipment procurement, delivery, and logistics
• Oversee OSP fiber optic installations and ISP infrastructure deployments
• Coordinate with base Civil Engineering for AF Forms 332, 813, and 103 approvals
• Manage cutover planning and execution minimizing operational impacts
• Lead System Acceptance Testing coordination and documentation

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, project management, information technology, or related field
• Minimum 8 years of program/project management experience in network infrastructure implementation or telecommunications deployment.
• Active DoD Secret security clearance or the ability obtain an interim Secret clearance
• PMP certification preferred
• Willing to travel CONUS up to 25%
