JOB OVERVIEW:

The Senior Staff Accountant role is responsible for enhancing account analysis and conducting monthly account reconciliations while also supervising a small group of Accounting Specialists. This position plays a critical role in leading and maintaining the integrity and transparency of financial records.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Application of GAAP principles in daily accounting activities and procedures (debits and credits, balance sheet reconciliation, etc.).
• As directed by management, develop recommendations to optimize the Company's accounting systems and procedures, and to detect inaccuracies.
• Support business processes and accounting policies; create corresponding documentation.
• Participate in the department's goal setting activities and month-end and year-end close processes.
• Review and analyze financial data and create reports on financial status based on the analysis results.
• Present reports, insights and recommendations to General Managers as tools to enhance their ability to make data-driven decisions.
• Participate in forecasting and ensuring compliance with financial policies and procedures.
• Prepare and review branch level financial statements and reconciliations accurately and timely.
• Create timely and accurate accounting reports and present them to company's executives and senior management.
• Work collaboratively with corporate-level financial and accounting managers (AP, AR, Billing) to optimize financial operations.
• Represent the Company in interactions with auditors, bankers, etc. This includes preparing required information, attending meetings, explaining the numbers, etc.
• Supervise a small remote team of Accounting Specialists; plan their work and assign tasks.
• Support, inform and guide the team on accounting control procedures.

QUALIFICATIONS:

The Senior Accountant role should possess the following qualifications:

• 3+ years of practical accounting-related work experience, preferably in a large corporate environment.
• Experience in leading a team, including remote team members, and delegating tasks effectively.
• Foundational experience in general accounting, generating financial statements, gathering and analyzing financial inputs, etc. is required.
• Proactive approach to process improvements and system enhancements.
• Willingness to adapt to changing priorities and business needs.
• Accounting-based analytical skills and experience, with a focus on providing data-driven financial insights and recommendations for operational improvements.
• Strong individual contributor who enjoys a fast-paced, collaborative team environment.
• Ability to comfortably deal with ambiguities, and to often function independently with minimal supervision.
• Coachable, with the willingness and ability to internalize instructions and take actionable steps.
• Sensitive to and embraces banking, audit and other deadlines.
