Executive Assistant

Position Overview

DeLaSalle Charter High School, a mission-driven public charter school in Kansas City,
Missouri, seeks a professional and highly organized Executive Assistant to support the Principal
and leadership team. The Executive Assistant serves as the administrative hub for the principal’s
office, ensuring effective communication, smooth coordination of school operations, and
efficient handling of daily administrative functions. The successful candidate will be committed
to the school’s mission of educating and empowering young people, especially those who have
struggled in traditional educational settings.

Key Responsibilities


  • Manage the Principal’s calendar, schedule meetings, coordinate travel, and prepare
    necessary materials for appointments.

  • Serve as the front-line liaison between the Principal’s office and internal/external
    stakeholders, including families, board members, network personnel, and community
    partners.

  • Draft, format, and distribute professional correspondence, memos, reports, and school-
    wide communications.

  • Organize and maintain confidential student, staff, and school records in accordance with
    FERPA and school policies.

  • Coordinate logistics for events such as Board of Directors meetings, staff trainings,
    family engagement events, and student recognition programs.

  • Prepare agendas, take minutes, and track action items for key leadership and
    administrative meetings.

  • Monitor and assist with budget tracking and procurement processes related to the
    principal’s office.

  • Support onboarding logistics for new hires and assist in the coordination of evaluation
    schedules.

  • Assist with data collection and reporting requirements for the Missouri Charter Public
    School Commission, DESE and other regulatory bodies.

  • Perform other administrative duties as assigned to support school operations and
    leadership.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:


  • Associate’s degree required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.

  • Minimum of 3 years of executive or administrative assistant experience; school or nonprofit setting strongly preferred.

Skills and Competencies: 


  • Demonstrated commitment to equity and supporting students from diverse backgrounds.

  • Outstanding organizational and time-management skills.

  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace, and student information systems (e.g., PowerSchool) is highly desirable.

  • Ability to exercise sound judgment, discretion, and confidentiality.

  • Team-oriented mindset with a proactive and flexible approach to challenges.
