Part-Time Bookkeeper

Location: Roanoke, VA
Job Type: Part-Time
Schedule: 20-25 hours weekly / Flexible schedule
Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour 

About the Role

We are looking for a reliable, detail-oriented  Part-Time Bookkeeper to help maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with  QuickBooks Online and is comfortable managing day-to-day bookkeeping tasks with accuracy and confidentiality.

This is a great opportunity for an organized bookkeeping professional who enjoys working independently and takes pride in keeping financial information organized.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate financial records in QuickBooks Online
• Record and categorize income and expenses
• Reconcile bank and credit card accounts
• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable
• Prepare and maintain financial reports
• Review transactions for accuracy and proper categorization
• Assist with monthly and year-end close processes
• Organize receipts, invoices, and other financial documentation
• Communicate with management regarding bookkeeping questions or discrepancies
• Support the accountant or CPA with tax preparation and financial reporting as needed

Qualifications

• Previous bookkeeping experience required
• Hands-on QuickBooks Online experience required
• Strong understanding of basic accounting and bookkeeping principles
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
• Strong organizational and time-management skills
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
• Comfortable handling confidential financial information
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with small-business bookkeeping
• Experience with payroll processing
• Experience preparing financial statements
• Prior experience working with an external accountant or CPA
