Phlebotomist is responsible for collection and transportation of patient specimens and performing clerical functions related to the support of the laboratory.

Job Duties:

• Assists in maintaining inventory of supplies, including expiration date checks.
• Accountable for intra-communication, updates and information from top down
• Actively participates in survey readiness.
• Communicates with lab leadership on concerns affecting lab operations, quality and errors.
• Monitors pending workload and communicates effectively as needed.
• Communicates and handles problems with customers in a timely manner.
• Performs phlebotomy on all patient populations following good practices and standards.
• Assists with specimen processing.
• Attends staff meetings in person or virtually.
• Orders and/or registers specimens in the LIS.
• Pulls pending ensuring work is completed in a timely manner.
• Performs positive patient identification of patients.

Qualifications:

Job Requirements:

• Graduate of a phlebotomy training program.
• Required licenses/certifications/courses: CPT (ASCP) preferred. BLS certification.
