Temporary Shipping & Receiving Clerk

Location: Moss Point, MS Pay: $18.00 per hour Schedule: Full-Time | MondayFriday Assignment Length: Approximately 812 Weeks (Starting July 6)

We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Shipping & Receiving Clerk to join our client's team in Moss Point, MS. This temporary position will provide coverage during a maternity leave and is expected to last approximately 812 weeks. The selected candidate will start in early July to allow for hands-on training and a smooth transition before the leave begins. This is a great opportunity for someone with warehouse, shipping, receiving, or order fulfillment experience who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and takes pride in accuracy and organization.

Responsibilities

Receive and inspect inbound shipments for accuracy, damages, and discrepancies
Verify packing slips and coordinate with vendors when documentation is missing
Organize incoming materials and ensure proper distribution within the warehouse
Pick, pack, and prepare customer orders according to specifications
Process outbound shipments and verify correct destinations and shipping requirements
Use shipping software to create shipments and identify cost-effective shipping methods
Document freight damages and coordinate with vendors regarding credits and claims
Process product returns and maintain accurate records, including RMAs
Assist with inventory counts and ensure products are stored in correct locations
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized warehouse environment
Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment as needed

Qualifications

At least 1 year of warehouse, shipping, receiving, or order fulfillment experience
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Excellent organizational and time-management skills
Ability to multitask and adapt to changing priorities
Experience with shipping software is a plus
Prior forklift experience preferred
Ability to work effectively with team members across multiple departments

Physical Requirements

Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, and reach throughout the shift
Ability to climb ladders and operate warehouse equipment safely
