Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN General)

Administers nursing care within the scope of practice under the direction of authorized personnel. Administers oxygen, applies sterile dressings, and performs catheter insertions. Reinserts gastrotomy tubes and provides wound care including suctioning and irrigation. Gives enemas and collects specimens. Performs dialysis treatments and assists healthcare professionals during exams and procedures. Administers first aid, CPR, and assists in emergency situations. Manages medication, including controlled and non-controlled substances, and provides instructions to patients. Maintains medication accountability records and documents patient conditions accurately. Provides general nursing care and direct support to patients in daily living activities. Assists in personal grooming, bathing, and repositions patients as needed. Responds to patient alarms and manages medical appointments. Participates in recreational activities with patients and facilitates group interventions. Supports the development of lower-level direct care staff through orientation and training. Attends staff meetings and participates in training programs as required. Orders medical supplies and maintains cleanliness in the nursing station and medication areas. Performs clerical tasks such as answering phones and filing documents.
