Position Overview Associate Veterinarian – Downtown Animal Care Center (DACC), Denver, CO. Provide high‑quality medical, surgical, and dental care as part of a full‑service small animal hospital. Work closely with the Hospital Manager, Regional Director, and a skilled team of veterinarians, technicians, and support staff. Key Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive patient exams and medical work‑ups Communicate and educate clients about care plans Perform diagnostic procedures, surgeries, and dental treatments Maintain accurate medical records Prescribe medications and manage pharmacy duties in accordance with controlled substance protocols Promote teamwork and staff efficiency Collaborate with the Hospital Manager on weekly priorities and expectations Evaluate and monitor daily hospital protocols from intake to discharge Attend daily rounds and monitor cases to uphold high standards Participate in practice management updates and training at all levels Perform other duties as assigned by Management Qualifications (Required) Minimum age 18 DVM or VMD from an accredited institution Current State Veterinary License Active DEA registration At least 1 year of veterinary practice experience Strong diagnostic and clinical skills Excellent surgical and dental abilities Team‑oriented work style Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills Commitment to compassionate, high‑quality care Effective communication with all hospital staff and clients Capability to handle pets experiencing severe stress, illness, or pain with confidence and reassurance Physical capacity for climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling as needed Ability to lift up to 50 pounds Preferred Skills (Nice To Have) Advanced clinical knowledge (cardiovascular, respiratory, orthopedic, neurological, etc.) and treatment prescription skills Problem‑solving abilities for high‑quality veterinary hospital management Clear communication of diagnostic and therapeutic options to clients and staff Professionalism, constructive feedback, and teamwork Business acumen related to practice management and finances Understanding of ethical principles guiding patient care decisions Commitment to continuing education and faculty development Benefits Signing, retention, and relocation packages up to $75,000 Medical, dental, and vision insurance Competitive salary and production bonus (no negative accrual option) Paid parental leave (birth, adoption, foster) 401(k) with discretionary contribution Team member pet discounts Emotional wellbeing support, including Calm app access and 24/7 EAP CE stipends and career development resources Grant Circle – relief fund for personal hardship Local hospital culture supported by national resources Pay Range
