Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Oral Surgery Assistant role based in New York, NY. The Oral Surgery Assistant will support oral surgeons during procedures by preparing treatment rooms, setting up instruments and materials, assisting chairside, and helping to maintain a sterile environment. Daily responsibilities include taking and recording vital signs, reviewing medical histories, assisting with sedation and post-operative care, and providing clear pre- and post-operative instructions to patients. The role also involves instrument sterilization, room turnover, inventory management, and accurate documentation in patient records. The Oral Surgery Assistant will collaborate closely with clinical and front office teams to support efficient patient flow and a positive patient experience. Qualifications Experience assisting in oral surgery or dental procedures, including chairside support and familiarity with surgical instruments and sterile technique. Knowledge of dental implant procedures, extractions, and basic oral surgery workflows, or willingness to learn these skills under supervision. Ability to take and document vital signs, review medical histories, and follow clinical protocols for infection control and OSHA compliance. Strong communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with patients, explaining instructions, and working effectively with the clinical team. Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced, patient-focused environment. High school diploma or equivalent required; completion of a dental assisting or oral surgery assisting program preferred. Current CPR/BLS certification preferred; radiography certification and experience with dental practice software are a plus. Ability to stand for extended periods, assist with patient positioning, and handle occasional lifting of equipment or supplies as required by the role. #J-18808-Ljbffr
