Manufacturing Operator, Fri-Sun/6 pm to 6:30 am

Position Summary The Manufacturing Operator is the first point of contact on the production and is expected to have technical, analytical judgement to support and assist our highly automated manufacturing process. They are critical contributor in providing efficient and continuous improvement on the production floor. The Nova Manufacturing Operator I position is responsible for safely operating production equipment to process a membrane. Operators are responsible for maintaining highly automated and advanced manufacturing in order to manufacture a highly complex membrane. The individual contributor will be trained to safely operate and analyze the process and train others to do the same. The position requires, technical ability, machine troubleshooting teamwork, and problem-solving skills and a willingness to work in a fast- paced manufacturing environment. And completes other duties as assigned. Primary Responsibilities and Duties Perform equipment setup, operation shutdown and other associated process steps to meet all standards for safety and efficiency. Analyze/run process and test data and correctly determine necessary actions to achieve desired quality, yield, and efficiency. Utilize and understand human machine interfaces (HMIs), Scada system and Statistical Process Controls (SPC) to identify and correct shifts within the process. Ensure adequate raw material is prepared correctly and membrane batches are completed in a timely manner to ensure on-time delivery. Troubleshoot and identify potential solutions for mechanical errors, safety issues or general operating inefficiencies within the production processes. Utilize computer systems to support material inventory movement, process transactions and quality management processes. Participate in manufacturing continuous improvement including support of new product design, process development, equipment validations, and process validations. Work from specifications, work orders, and SOPs provided by Process Engineer and Production Supervisor. Safely follow standard operating procedures including but not limited to material handling, record keeping, process specifications and ensuring all team members adhere to proper PPE. Notify Process Engineer and/or Production Supervisor of any discrepancies to ensure quality standards and safety of operations are always maintained. Excellent attention to detail, good organization, communication skills, and capable of leading and directing other team members. Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent. One year manufacturing experience preferred. Ability to read and understand documented processes and procedures. Good attention to detail, ability to perform basic math and computer data entry. Ability to lift 50 pounds. Ability to use some hand tools. Walk and stand during entire shift. Work on a clean room environment and wear a bunny suit for long periods of time. Wearing safety glasses and nitrile gloves also are required. Manufacturing Associate I (A) – High School Diploma or equivalent; 1 year manufacturing experience preferred; training on basics of position. Manufacturing Associate II (B) – 1‑2 years work‑related experience; performs all duties in assigned area and follows all documented processes and procedures without assistance. Manufacturing Associate III (C) – 2 years work‑related experience; advanced level skill sets and becomes SME in assigned area; cross‑trained in all work centers in assigned area; requires certification within a variety of product lines. Manufacturing Associate IV (D) – 3 or more years of work‑related experience; ability to obtain certification as required for specialized training paths; complete Train the Trainer and provide training to less experienced manufacturing associates. Manufacturing Associate V (E) – Completed Train the Trainer; trainer level expert; assist in developing training pathways and certification materials.
