Job Description Client Summary:
Required Experience and Qualifications:
- PE-backed commercial landscaping company acquiring and scaling well-run maintenance businesses across the West and Southwest United States
- Led by a seasoned team of industry veterans with deep operational expertise in commercial landscape management
- Focused on building a regional platform through strategic acquisitions of established, high-quality maintenance companies
- Positioned in a fragmented market with significant consolidation opportunity and a proven operator-led growth model
- Early-stage platform with a long-term outlook on building a durable, scalable commercial landscaping business
- Deliver timely and GAAP-compliant monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports and slides at corporate and branch levels
- Manage staff of 5+ teammates across 4 operating branches (Ventura County, LA, SD, SLC)
- Build and manage budgeting and FP&A processes to deliver monthly variance analyses and 13-week cash flow outlook
- Manage internal processes and controls at corporate and branch levels to ensure reliable financial reporting
- Manage consolidation and integration of financial processes and systems upon closing of future acquisitions
- Manage the Company's audit and tax advisors to ensure accurate and timely filings and reporting
- Lead reporting of financial results in monthly operating review meeting with Board of Directors
- Must be proficient in MS Office and NetSuite
Required Experience and Qualifications:
- CPA with US GAAP financial reporting expertise
- 10+ years of accounting experience, with 2+ years of Controller experience
- Experience managing teams of 5+ teammates
- Experience managing end-to-end month-end, q-end, y-end financial close processes
- Experience with transactions accounting, systems integrations, and consolidations
- Experience leading budgeting, FP&A, and cash outlook analyses
- Experience managing annual audit and tax processes
- Experience building finance systems - policies, closing checklists, chart of accounts, ERP systems
- Strong work ethic, proven ability to roll up their sleeves and solve problems hands-on
- Ability to manage remote teams; even though we're seeking a hybrid role, there's a distributed team that needs to be managed.
