OMG Roofing Products is a leading global manufacturer and supplier of value-added components for the commercial roofing industry. The FastenMaster Division manufactures and markets innovative, premium quality wood-to-wood fasteners that are engineered to enable professional contractors to complete building projects safer, faster, and easier. The quality of our products and services is critical to the success of our company and our customers. The Quality Technician evaluates products and processes for compliance with appropriate specifications and requirements. This key position performs routine and special tests and inspections, trains operators on quality procedures, prepares summaries of collected data to support other internal departments and works directly and independently with Manufacturing, Product Development, Engineering, and other departments to drive compliance and achievement of our Quality goals.Position RequirementsHigh school diploma or equivalent required.Technical experience or associate degree in a related discipline, additional education in Statistical Quality Control/Statistical Process-Control, Six Sigma, or related coursework is preferred.At least 2 years of manufacturing or quality experience in an industrial environment.Strong analytical, mathematical, organizational, and communication skills.Strong problem-solving and time-management skills.Team-oriented approach with a desire to work in a hands-on capacity.Excellent PC skills including experience with MS Office Suite.Positive attitude and good judgment.Strong sense of responsibility and ownership.Positive can-do attitude.Physical RequirementsAbility to work in high noise areas and wear appropriate hearing protection devices.Manual material handling involving the need to grip, squeeze, and pinch.The position requires the ability to regularly stand for long periods of time.The position requires good close vision and depth perception.Ability to walk, stand, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, use hands to handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance; and occasionally lift/push/pull/carry up to 50 pounds.Must be able to complete all essential job functions listed in the position responsibilities, with or without reasonable accommodation.
