Program Coordinator

$120k

Crossover for Work

$120,000 annual salary paid weekly, health/dental/vision coverage begins day one Full-time on-site position at one Alpha campus location: Beverly Hills, La Jolla (San Diego), Lake Forest (Orange County), Piedmont, San Francisco, Santa Barbara, or Santa Monica, CA; Greenwich, CT; Boca Raton, FL; Chicago, IL; Boston, MA; or New York City, NY (relocation assistance available) 40-hour work week, entirely classroom-based with students in grades K-3 $120,000 annual salary paid weekly, health/dental/vision coverage begins day one Full-time on-site position at one Alpha campus location: Beverly Hills, La Jolla (San Diego), Lake Forest (Orange County), Piedmont, San Francisco, Santa Barbara, or Santa Monica, CA; Greenwich, CT; Boca Raton, FL; Chicago, IL; Boston, MA; or New York City, NY (relocation assistance available) 40-hour work week, entirely classroom-based with students in grades K-3 The structured-literacy certification you hold—Orton-Gillingham, LETRS, Wilson, IMSE, or a Master's in reading instruction—has opened doors to every K-3 reading position you've pursued. In most roles, though, that credential also marked the limit: you delivered a pre-set program and documented results. Here, your certification is where the work begins. If that difference resonates, continue reading. Alpha has dismantled conventional instruction models. Students progress through academic content independently using AI-adaptive applications. There are no lectures, textbooks, or district pacing calendars. Your position represents the one area where human expertise cannot be substituted. You'll create 20-minute small-group sessions informed by live app data; these workshops are intentionally brief, because targeted instruction outperforms duration. You'll also lead motivation sessions designed to ensure 100% of your students meet weekly app targets, utilizing Alpha's proven motivational framework (campus currency, leaderboards, developmentally appropriate gamification). When you catch a miscue during instruction, you identify the underlying phonemic deficit and redesign the next day's session before leaving campus. This is the expectation. Families who enroll at these campuses select Alpha for measurable results, not simply participation. Parents review weekly progress reports on their child's reading development, and they ask pointed questions. You'll field direct inquiries about individual student advancement, and vague reassurances will not suffice. You must reference the running record, name the specific phonemic weakness, and articulate your intervention plan. That level of accountability should energize you, not weigh you down. Your initial months focus on establishing credibility in the room. Workshops must be engaging, appropriately leveled, and demonstrably effective; direct measures include student satisfaction and \"love your Guide\" survey scores (target: 90%+). Once you've established your impact, your influence expands beyond your classroom: successful strategies you develop become templates adopted across other Alpha campuses, and your diagnostic precision influences reading instruction as Alpha scales. The systems you create extend well beyond your immediate environment. Before an offer is extended, you'll submit a brief video recording of yourself telling a captivating story for young children, and you'll complete a full-day on-campus trial working directly with K-3 students. Low energy with children disqualifies candidates regardless of credential strength. This is intentional. What You Will Be Doing Creating small-group reading workshops for K-3 students using real-time adaptive-app data, anchored in structured-literacy approaches (Orton-Gillingham, Wilson, LETRS, IMSE, or equivalent) Leading daily motivational sessions that drive 100% of students to meet weekly app objectives through Alpha's motivational framework (campus currency, leaderboards, age-appropriate game mechanics) Analyzing AI-generated performance metrics (fluency trajectories, decoding precision, comprehension indicators) to modify instruction during the school day, not only during planning periods Conducting running records, fluency assessments, and decoding evaluations to generate growth visible in weekly campus data meetings Serving as the engaging, high-energy adult your K-3 students are excited to see each day What You Won’t Be Doing Implementing a commercial reading curriculum, scripted lesson sequence, or district-mandated scope; you build lessons directly from student performance data Delivering whole-class lectures; all teaching occurs in targeted small groups while students access core academic content through adaptive platforms Serving as a reading consultant, instructional coach, or district specialist; you work directly with children in the classroom daily Managing a conventional classroom schedule: subject-by-subject lectures, homework correction, test preparation. Your instructional blocks consist of workshops, motivation sessions, and data-informed small-group instruction Preparing IEPs, 504 accommodations, or formal psychoeducational reports; student progress is documented through app analytics and your running records, not special-education compliance documents Reading Program Coordinator Key Responsibilities Generate quantifiable reading growth in phonics, fluency, and comprehension for K-3 students within a campus culture where student outcomes are assessed weekly. Basic Requirements Structured-literacy certification (Orton-Gillingham, LETRS, Wilson Reading System, IMSE, CERI, Neuhaus, UFLI, or equivalent) OR Master's degree in reading instruction Bachelor's degree in any field, plus 2+ years of full-time K-3 structured reading instruction in a school or clinical environment within the past 5 years, using systematic phonics or structured literacy Proven capacity to independently design reading lessons and clearly explain your instructional content and methods without depending on a published curriculum Availability to work on-site full-time at one Alpha campus: Beverly Hills, La Jolla (San Diego), Lake Forest (Orange County), Piedmont, San Francisco, Santa Barbara, or Santa Monica, CA; Greenwich, CT; Boca Raton, FL; Chicago, IL; Boston, MA; or New York City, NY (relocation assistance provided) Commitment to teaching all K-3 students (not exclusively intervention cases) and incorporating AI and adaptive-learning technologies into daily practice as these tools develop Legal authorization to work in the United States without requiring visa sponsorship Nice-to-have Requirements Direct experience with AI-driven or adaptive reading systems (e.g., Amira, Lexia, i-Ready, Reading Plus) for instructional planning or student data interpretation Documented reading gains you can cite with specific metrics (fluency increases in WCPM, accuracy gains, decoding level progression) Familiarity with diagnostic reading tools (DRA, DIBELS, AIMSweb) for creating differentiated instructional groups Experience in high-accountability educational settings (independent schools, top-tier charter networks, premium tutoring with outcome-focused families) Background in performance, youth sports coaching, or other roles engaging K-3 audiences beyond traditional classroom instruction About Alpha Join the team building school around student growth Alpha reimagines the school day around faster learning, stronger mentorship, and more time for students to build real-world skills. Roles with real student impact Alpha hires teachers (guides), operators, admissions experts, school & curriculum leaders, and remote team members. Education work that pays like it matters Alpha offers six-figure roles for people ready to help build a radically better school experience. A culture built for builders Alpha is fast-moving, ambitious, and student focused. It’s for people who want to improve the system, not maintain it. Alpha is where you can do the most meaningful work of your career There is so much to cover for this exciting role, and space here is limited. Working with us This is a full-time (40 hours per week), long-term position. The position is immediately available and requires entering into an independent contractor agreement with Crossover as a Contractor of Record. The compensation level for this role is $60 USD/hour, which equates to $120,000 USD/year assuming 40 hours per week and 50 weeks per year. The payment period is weekly.
