Machine Operator

Now Hiring CNC Machine Drill Operators for a PCB Manufacturing Company in Milpitas!

As a CNC Drill Operator, you'll set up and run drilling equipment used in printed circuit board manufacturing. You'll ensure parts are made accurately, follow established procedures, and help the team meet production goals and deadlines.

Shift: Graveyard - 10:00pm to 6:00am

Responsibilities

• Operate CNC Excellon or Hitachi drilling machines in alignment with established production priorities from the drilling department.
• Set up machines and perform basic adjustments to ensure accurate and efficient operation.
• Use calipers, pin gauges, and other measuring tools to verify board dimensions and material specifications.
• Follow travelers, work instructions, and blueprints to complete production tasks accurately.
• Monitor the quality of work in process and verify compliance with process and product specifications.
• Communicate material inventory concerns promptly to the department supervisor.
• Inform the department supervisor of any changes in production status, issues, or delays.
• Follow all company and departmental processes, procedures, and safety guidelines.
• Assist new hires with basic machine setup, operations, and work instructions.
• Provide relief support on equipment and processes as needed to maintain production flow.
• Participate in the evaluation and implementation of new processes, equipment, and procedures.
• Use hand tools and general production equipment safely and effectively.
• Perform general labor and assembly tasks related to drilling and production as required.

Essential Skills

• Experience in machine operation, including CNC operation and machine operating in a production environment.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, travelers, and work instructions.
• Knowledge and practical use of calipers, pin gauges, and other precision measuring tools.
• Ability to visually verify fine detail work with a high level of accuracy.
• Capability to pull, lift, and carry up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time during the shift.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate in English to the degree necessary to perform the job safely and accurately.
• General labor and production experience, including familiarity with hand tools and assembly tasks.
• 1-year minimum experience in printed circuit board (PCB) manufacturing preferred.
• Knowledge of manufacturing flex and rigid flex printed circuit boards preferred.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Previous experience as a drill operator in a manufacturing or PCB environment.
• Demonstrated ability to follow detailed processes and procedures consistently.
• Comfort working with CNC Excellon or Hitachi machines or similar CNC equipment.
• Strong sense of responsibility and reliability in completing assigned tasks.
• Willingness to support continuous improvement initiatives and adopt new processes and equipment.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a production team environment.

Work Environment

This is a full-time production role in a manufacturing facility focused on advanced materials and printed circuit board-related products. You will work around CNC drilling equipment such as Excellon or Hitachi machines, as well as hand tools and measurement instruments including calipers and pin gauges. The position requires standing and walking for long periods and handling materials weighing up to 50 lbs. Job Type & Location: This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Milpitas, CA.

Pay and Benefits: The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $25.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
