Maintenance Tech/Licensed Plumber

Position Summary
The Maintenance Technician/Licensed Plumber is responsible for the general maintenance, repair, and upkeep of designated agency buildings and facilities. This position performs a variety of maintenance tasks, including electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and HVAC work. Assignments are generally completed through work orders, with accurate documentation required upon completion of each job.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform general maintenance and repairs throughout designated buildings and facilities.
• Complete electrical, plumbing, carpentry, HVAC, and other facility-related repairs.
• Respond to and complete assigned work orders in a timely manner.
• Accurately complete all required work-order documentation within one working day of job completion.
• Identify maintenance issues and take appropriate action to resolve them.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and functional environment throughout assigned facilities.
• Work cooperatively with coworkers, facility managers, supervisory staff, and facility residents.
• Respond to special assignments and emergency maintenance needs as required.
• Perform other duties related to facility maintenance as assigned.

Minimum Education and/or Licensing Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Additional training and/or experience in electrical, plumbing, carpentry, HVAC, or related maintenance fields.
• Licensed plumber preferred/required, depending on agency requirements.

Required Experience and Skills

• Working knowledge of general facility repair and maintenance.
• Technical experience in building maintenance, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, or related areas.
• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve routine maintenance problems.
• Ability to work effectively and cooperatively with coworkers, facility managers, supervisory staff, and facility residents.
• Ability to prioritize work orders and complete assignments within established timeframes.
• Ability to work independently while also functioning effectively as part of a team.
• Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.

Work Schedule

• Expected to work at least 8 hours per day and 40 hours per week , in accordance with agency policy.
• May be required to work outside of normal business hours for special assignments or emergencies.
• On-call responsibilities are required.

Physical Requirements

This position may require standing, walking, bending, lifting, climbing, reaching, and working in various indoor and outdoor environments. The employee must be able to safely perform the physical duties associated with general facility maintenance and repair.
