Industrial Refrigeration Technician

Industrial Refrigeration TechnicianWe are seeking a skilled Industrial Refrigeration Technician to install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair industrial refrigeration systems. The ideal candidate has strong mechanical and electrical knowledge, experience with large-scale cooling systems, and a commitment to safety and efficiency.Key Responsibilities:Install, inspect, and maintain industrial refrigeration systems, including compressors, condensers, evaporators, and control systemsDiagnose and repair system issues in ammonia and/or Freon-based refrigeration systemsPerform routine preventive maintenance to ensure optimal system performanceMonitor system performance and make necessary adjustmentsEnsure compliance with safety regulations and environmental standards (e.g., OSHA, EPA)Maintain accurate service records and documentationRespond to emergency service calls and minimize downtimeCollaborate with maintenance teams, engineers, and facility managersQualifications:High school diploma or equivalent (technical certification preferred)3+ years of experience in industrial refrigeration or HVAC systemsKnowledge of ammonia refrigeration systems (preferred in industrial settings)Familiarity with electrical systems, PLCs, and control panelsAbility to read blueprints and technical diagramsEPA Section 608 Certification (required for refrigerant handling)RETA certification (e.g., CARO/CIRO) is a plusSkills & Competencies:Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skillsMechanical aptitude and attention to detailAbility to work independently and in a team environmentGood communication and documentation skillsCommitment to workplace safetyPhysical Requirements:Ability to lift heavy equipment (50+ lbs)Comfortable working in cold environments and at heightsAbility to stand, kneel, and work in confined spacesWork Environment:Industrial facilities such as food processing plants, cold storage warehouses, and manufacturing sitesMay involve shift work, on-call duties, and overtimeThe above job description is meant to describe the general nature and level of work being performed; it is not intended to be an exhaustive list of all responsibilities, duties and skills required for the position.All job requirements are subject to possible modification to reasonably accommodate individuals with disabilities.This job description in no way states or implies that these are the only duties to be performed by the employee occupying this position.
