Staff Nurse MedSurg Acute Care Unit

In MedSurg Dearth at Main Campus Dearth Tower Work schedule will be Weekends on the Day Evening Shift, Every Sat and Sunday. Summary The staff nurse is a professional nurse who, with minimal supervision, is responsible for providing nursing care to patients. Patient care includes assessment, interventions, and reassessments of the patient. The nurse is also responsible for planning, implementing, educating, and evaluating care of patients/caregivers. Other information Education Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Experience Licensures, Certifications, and/or Registries Current RN license in the State of Alabama. Current BLS certification. Credentials with Equivalent Qualifications Essential: Registered Nurse AL Single State Registered Nurse AL NLC Multi State Registered Nurse Non-AL NLC Multi State Basic Life Support Education with Equivalent Qualifications Essential: Associate of Science Nursing in Nursing The Dearth Tower is made up of three 15-bed pediatric med/surg units that are located on 5 Dearth, 6 Dearth, and 7 Dearth in the McWane building of Children’s of Alabama. Most Dearth Tower patients are admitted to the Pediatric Hospital Medicine (PHM) physicians. Common diagnoses seen on the Dearth Tower are asthma exacerbation, bronchiolitis/RSV, pneumonia, cellulitis/abscess, neonate with fever, dehydration, gastroenteritis, s/p tonsillectomy/adenoidectomy, and bilateral myringotomy tubes.
