Staff Nurse Hematology/Oncology Unit - Weekends

In MedSurg 8 Quarterback at Main Campus Quarterback Tower

Work schedule will be Weekends on the Evening Shift, Saturday and Sunday.

Summary:
The staff nurse is a professional nurse who, with minimal supervision, is responsible for providing nursing care to patients. Patient care includes assessment, interventions, and reassessments of the patient. The nurse is also responsible for planning, implementing, educating, and evaluating care of patients/caregivers.

Education

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.

Experience

Licensures, Certifications, and/or Registries

• Current RN license in the State of Alabama.
• Current BLS certification.

Credentials with Equivalent Qualifications:
Essential:
* Registered Nurse AL Single State or any of the following equivalent qualifications below:
- Registered Nurse AL NLC Multi State
- Registered Nurse Non-AL NLC Multi State
* Basic Life Support

Education with Equivalent Qualifications:
Essential:
* Associate of Science Nursing in Nursing

Patients' ages typically range from birth through adolescence with a variety of hematological and oncological disorders. The Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Unit 24 beds and is located in the Quarterback Tower of the Benjamin Russell Hospital for Children in Birmingham, Alabama.The Pediatric Hematology / Oncology Division prides itself in innovation, teamwork, commitment, compassion, understanding and clinical excellence. This unique acute care department boasts a team of professionals dedicated to improving the lives of these incredible children who may be struggling with both health and developmental related issues.
