Degree in Speech-Language Pathology, active SLP license and 1+ year of Speech-Language Pathology experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Make a lasting impact supporting students in Volusia County! Several contract opportunities are available for dedicated Speech-Language Pathologists, starting August 2026 and running through late May 2027. These roles offer a range of full- and part-time schedules across various school sites, serving diverse student populations. The district welcomes Clinical Fellows and provides supervision as needed to support growth and success. Please note that SLPAs and virtual candidates are not being considered at this time.
Key Qualifications:
- Active Florida SLP license and CCC required
- Previous experience in a school setting strongly preferred
- Proficiency working with students who have severe-to-profound needs and with AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication)
- Commitment to supporting a range of elementary, middle, and high school students
- Strong interpersonal, teamwork, and documentation skills
Essential Responsibilities:
- Deliver comprehensive speech and language therapy to assigned caseloads
- Collaborate with special education teams, faculty, and families to develop and implement effective IEPs
- Utilize AAC and other assistive technologies to ensure every student’s communication potential is maximized
- Provide timely and accurate evaluations, therapy logs, and progress reports
- Support inclusive learning environments to help students reach their academic and social goals
Roles vary from 2-day to full 5-day per week schedules, with assignments available across multiple school sites within the district. Clinical Fellows will receive provided supervision to ensure a supportive transition into the field.
