Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Emergency Room Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 2 years required. License: Must have a valid NY license. Certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS required. Must-Have: - Charge experience required. - Emergency Department experience required. - Traveler experience required. - EPIC charting system experience required. Description: The position requires a registered nurse with experience in the emergency department. Candidates must have a minimum of two years of experience. Travelers with first-time travel experience will not be accepted. The role involves working with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:3 across all shifts. The unit provides care for a variety of patient age groups including neonates, adolescents, infants, adults, and geriatrics. Key skills needed include interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, blood product administration, phlebotomy, IV start and maintenance, and management of ventilated patients. Additional skills in BiPAP/CPAP management, procedural sedation administration, and isolation precautions are essential. Candidates must be familiar with triage practices. Charge experience is essential for this role. There is no color specification for scrubs. The unit is supported by respiratory services, phlebotomy, radiology, pharmacy, and unit secretarial staff. All candidates must be willing to float as required.
