License/Certs: Confirm credential requirements with VHS
Experience: Prior optometry experience preferred

What You'll Do

Conduct comprehensive eye exams and screenings for correctional facility patients
Prescribe appropriate lenses, glasses, and contact lenses
Document patient findings and maintain accurate medical records
Follow facility policies and procedures for patient care
Collaborate with facility staff to ensure quality service delivery
Stay compliant with all credentialing and licensing requirements

What You Need

Valid optometry license for South Carolina
Prior optometry experience preferred
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and adhere to schedules

About the Assignment This position supports the health services team at a correctional facility, providing essential eye care to inmates. The role involves direct patient interaction within a structured facility environment, contributing to the overall well-being of patients and supporting public health initiatives.
