Safety & Security Liaison

The shift for this role would be as follows:Monday-Thursday, 8:00PM-6:00AM (1.0 FTE)Our Safety & Security Liaison(s) are responsible for preparing for and responding to incidents that involve tenants and visitors to our Patricia K. building. There is special emphasis on challenges related to severe and persistent mental illness and substance use disorders, that impact the safety and security of tenants at the site. You primarily work with another Safety and Security Liaison during 6 hours of a 10-hour shift. There will be janitorial duties during the overlap of shifts which will be shared by team members.At Community House, we value a strong work-life balance and aim to provide the best support for our workers. As a CHMHA employee, you will have access to a range of unique benefits, such as company-paid medical/dental/vision/disability insurance, a 403B retirement plan with employer match, continuing education credit, a personal unlimited Orca Card, and an employee assistance program with financial, mental, and legal assistance.RESPONSIBILITIESPatrols Patricia K and adjacent grounds, parking lots, and operating entry into the building via electronic entry exit doorRespond to disruptive persons events with de-escalation techniques to neutralize situations and mitigate negative outcomesProvides on-site stand-by service or escort services for tenants when requestedReports potential conduct issues and violation of policies by tenants to the Director of Housing and Property ManagerAddress trespassing concerns including working with local authorities to establish restrictions for those not allowed entry into the buildingCoordinate with external safety and law enforcement agencies in a respectful and courteous mannerInvolvement in emergency preparedness, including but not limited to workplace violence prevention training, overseeing designated drills/exercises, and annual emergency/risk assessmentReports and documents all incidents using standard processGeneral cleaning duties when time allows such as routine bathroom/laundry room cleaning and trash managementOther duties as assignedBASIC QUALIFICATIONSHigh school diploma or education equivalentAbility to prioritize to maximize performance of duties, as well as reevaluation of priorities in response to changes in circumstancesAbility to communicate complex and/or technical information through various methods (e.g., correspondence, memos, letters, emails) in a manner that can be easily understood by coworkers or associatesAbility to perform duties outlined in description within reasonable accommodationsEither currently hold or willing to apply for DOL security guard license within 90 days of hirePREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSFirst Aid and/or CPR certificationExperience in a social service setting helpfulA working knowledge and adherence to all agency policies and proceduresExperience with de-escalation strategies to resolve significant conflicts that may arise as a safety and security liaison #J-18808-Ljbffr Mental Health
