Pharmacist (Full-time)

Role Description This full-time, on-site Pharmacist role is based at Metro Pharmacy in Owings Mills, MD. The Pharmacist will review and verify prescriptions, accurately dispense medications, and provide clear counseling on proper use, side effects, and safety considerations. Daily responsibilities include checking for drug interactions and contraindications, performing clinical medication reviews, and documenting all activities in the pharmacy system. The role involves collaborating with prescribers and insurance providers, overseeing pharmacy technicians, and maintaining compliance with state and federal regulations. The Pharmacist will also support inventory management, uphold quality and safety standards, and contribute to a patient-centered, community-focused environment. Qualifications Strong clinical pharmacy skills, including prescription verification, medication therapy management, and drug interaction review. Ability to provide patient counseling, education, and support with clear, empathetic communication and active listening. Proficiency with pharmacy management systems, e-prescribing platforms, and basic digital tools used for prescription processing. Knowledge of state and federal pharmacy laws, controlled substance regulations, and best practices in medication safety. Effective collaboration and teamwork skills for working with pharmacy staff, prescribers, payers, and caregivers. Strong organizational skills to manage workflow, prioritize tasks, and maintain accurate records and documentation. Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or equivalent degree from an accredited program. Current, active pharmacist license in the state of Maryland (or eligibility for licensure prior to start date). Experience in community or retail pharmacy settings preferred; new graduates with strong clinical training are encouraged to apply.
