Senior Accountant
\n6 Month Contract
\nOnsite in Greater Lansing, MI
\n$45-55/hr
\n \nMust Haves :
\n- \n
- 5+ years progressive accounting experience \n
- Proficient in excel \n
- Good organization/attention to detail \n
- Degree in Finance/Accounting \n
Preferred :
\n- \n
- Sage ERP \n
- Acquisition integration experience plus \n
Essential responsibilities and duties include:
\n· Maintain general ledger, prepare and input monthly journal entries, review and explain variances from budget and forecast.
\n· Coordinate and manage the month-end close process through financial statement preparation and analysis.
\n· Assist in preparation of integrated financials from acquired entities, provide analysis and process assistance to acquired entities.
\n· Ensure monthly WIP/accrual analysis and entry is complete.
\n· Reconciliation and variance analysis of P&L and B/S accounts.
\n· Assist in the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial accounting close process.
\n· Work closely with the Director of Accounting in organizing and driving the Accounting Team.
\n· Perform monthly financial reviews of certain service areas to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial results.
\n· Work with project/branch managers and to understand financials and assist with preparation of forecasts and various financial models.
\n \nRequired qualifications:
\n· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required.
\n· Five or more years of accounting experience utilizing various accounting methodologies and a background that shows a progression of increasing responsibilities.
\n· Successful candidate will be deadline oriented, organized, possess strong time-management skills and have strong attention to detail.
\n· Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
\n· Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Outlook.
\n \nNice to haves:
\n· Experience in the service and manufacturing industry preferred.
\n· Experience with Sage a plus.
\n· Experience in acquisition integration a plus.
