Key Responsibilities

• Implement physical therapy treatment plans developed by the supervising Physical Therapist, tailoring interventions to each patient's learning style, therapeutic needs, and psycho-social, cultural, and spiritual considerations.
• Provide therapeutic interventions for a wide variety of physical and functional limitations including musculoskeletal, neurological, cardiovascular, and developmental impairments, documenting progress with measurable and functional goals.
• Maintain accurate patient records in accordance with regulatory and departmental guidelines, including progress notes, treatment notes, charges, and discharge summaries.
• Communicate regularly with the supervising Physical Therapist to discuss patient progress, adjust schedules to accommodate caseload changes, and collaboratively set patient goals.
• Communicate with physicians and interdisciplinary medical team members regarding treatment provided, patient progress or complications, and clarification of orders.
• Contribute to departmental performance through professional development activities including competency training, in-service coordination, mentoring new hires, and participation in performance improvement initiatives.

Required Qualifications

• Active Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) license in the state of South Carolina.
• Current CPR/BLS certification.
• Demonstrated ability to implement and document physical therapy treatment plans under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist.
• Ability to maintain continuing education units (CEUs) as required by SC LLR for licensure.
• Commitment to maintaining a safe, clean, and orderly work environment using appropriate health and safety equipment.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior experience in an outpatient physical therapy setting.
• Experience working with patients across a range of diagnoses including musculoskeletal, neurological, and cardiovascular conditions.
• Experience serving as a clinical instructor or mentor to new staff or students.
