Maintenance Technician - Food Manufacturing (FT): At Yoshida Foods International, we manufacture sauces and carbonated beverage products for domestic and international clients. We are seeking a full time Day Maintenance Technician to join our awesome Maintenance Department to ensure smooth operations of the day-to-day of our food manufacturing facility in Portland, OR. SUMMARY: Yoshida Foods is looking for:
- A mid-high level skilled production line Technician who understands hydraulics, compressed air, and electrical-mechanical systems.
- Prefer maintenance experience in food or chemical manufacturing or packaging.
- All technicians can progress through in-house training to a higher classification and pay.
- Starting base pay per hour: $35-$40. Base pay is dependent on experience.

- We are looking to hire new technicians for our maintenance team ASAP!
- This is a 40-hour/week position with some requested overtime if the team needs support, and some required overtime with advanced notice if production is planned on weekends.
- We are hiring for the Day Shift - typically Monday-Friday, 8-10 hour shifts.
- During the training period (first 60 days), shift flexibility may be needed.
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems, controls, and components on production and facility equipment.
- Perform preventive maintenance on motors, drives, PLCs, and wiring systems to reduce unplanned downtime.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.
- Collaborate with production teams to identify recurring issues and implement long-term solutions.
- Assist with mechanical repairs when needed, including bearings, belts, and hydraulics.
- Support equipment upgrades and installations, ensuring compliance with electrical codes and safety standards.
- 2+ years of industrial maintenance experience with a strong electrical focus.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting AC/DC circuits, motor controls, and PLC-based systems.
- Ability to read and work from electrical schematics and technical documentation.
- Familiarity with lockout/tagout procedures and OSHA electrical safety standards.
- Bonus: Experience with VFDs, industrial automation, or robotics.
- A problem-solving mindset and the ability to work independently under pressure.
- All technicians: Perform installation, maintenance, and repair work on various equipment associated with food processing and packaging.
- Prioritize the production line to stay up and running.
- Promptly communicate to production supervisors, maintenance manager, and co-workers on work status, the need for assistance, parts needed, follow-through, and pass down information for another technician to take over.
- Maintain work completion records and logs, including a computerized work order system as needed.
- Comply with all Departmental policies and procedures.
- Prefer experience with food processing (sauce and beverage preferred) and packaging equipment but will consider candidates with similar experience in other manufacturing environments.
- Aptitude for dealing with issues common to electro-mechanics.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, and Safety Data Sheets.
- Thorough knowledge of standard hand and power tools and equipment used in plant maintenance and repair activities.
- Adhere to the Lock out, Tag out the program, and possess a Safety mindset.
- Works well independently and with others, good communicator, and is organized.
- Basic shop math is associated with maintenance activities.
- Standard shop tools and equipment, lathe, pipe-threader, welder, scissor lift, forklift, etc.
- Work performed in the production line, warehouse, and shop.
- Subject to temperature variation, long hours standing on concrete, and occasionally shifting work hours to support production and team staffing.
- On-the-job experience, training with an apprentice, or AA degree for mechanical-related technical work.
