Quality Production Specialist (Level 2, 3, or 4)

Quality Production Specialist (Associate, Experienced or Senior) Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) in Mesa, AZ is looking for a Quality Production Specialist. The role focuses on product quality reviews in a busy manufacturing environment, requiring advanced machining knowledge across metallic and composite materials, including manual and CNC machining, heat treatment, and protective coatings. Position Responsibilities Level 2 Responsibilities Assist with review and validation of product non-conformances and disposition type, quality procedures and engineering requirements. Support analysis to identify and evaluate the quality of products, operations and processes. Participate in investigations to determine root cause of nonconformance of plans, applying basic knowledge of aerospace design, systems and integration to perform failure and forensic analysis of aerospace components and systems. Gather data and provide recommendations/solutions to nonconformance of plans, products or processes. Assist with the development, modification and documentation of actions to assure problem resolution or to implement corrective/preventive action. Assist in obtaining corrective action on nonconforming plans and hardware/processes and submit for review. Support concurrence and obtain commitments to support program resolution. Participate and observe the validation associated with corrective action to assure nonconformance has been eliminated. Verify internal replication systems adhere to company and regulatory standards and procedures. Conduct audits to ensure media is stored and handled per engineering defined requirements. Assist in the creation of reports and coordinate with responsible parties for internal distribution. Work under general supervision. Level 3 Responsibilities Review and validate product non-conformances and disposition type, quality procedures and engineering requirements. Perform analysis to identify and evaluate the quality of products, operations and processes to meet Quality Management System requirements, applicable company procedures, contract requirements or government regulations. Apply knowledge of aerospace design, systems and integration to perform failure and forensic analysis of aerospace components and systems. Train and mentor fellow employees in the Quality Management System. Perform root cause analysis on nonconformance to identify the cause and prevent reoccurrence. Independently develop, modify and document actions to assure problem resolution or to implement corrective/preventive action and document resolution. Obtain corrective action on nonconforming plans and hardware/processes. Negotiate concurrence, obtain commitments for taking preventive and corrective action, prioritize quality activities and ensure problem resolution. Review and validate the corrective action plans and identify effectivity to ensure completion. Review and approve Quality planning changes or disposition of nonconformance hardware products/processes. Guide validation of configuration management, quality procedures and material review policies to deliver the software products. Develop software system processes to support changing industry standards. Review and implement corrective action on audit results to ensure media is stored and handled per engineering defined requirements. Interpret industry standards and provide recommendations for implementation. Create analytical reports and coordinate with responsible parties for internal/external distribution. Work under general direction. Level 4 Responsibilities Provide guidance for reviews and validate product non-conformances and disposition type, quality procedures and engineering requirements. Oversee the analysis and evaluation of the quality of products, operations and processes. Guide the review of production plans. Apply advanced knowledge of aerospace design, systems and integration to perform failure and forensic analysis of aerospace components and systems. Guide or provide assistance in the root cause analysis of nonconformance. Verify the accuracy of analysis results by consulting with other authorities in the technical field. Establish process and product improvements by implementing technical initiatives. Oversee the process of problem resolution to ensure effectiveness of the Quality Management System. Provide oversight of the corrective/preventive action plans to ensure timely completion. Review and oversee approval of Quality planning changes or disposition of nonconformance hardware products/processes. Provide direction for validation of corrective action to assure causes of nonconformance have been eliminated. Monitor the group’s performance of the verification activity. Create formal analytical reports and coordinate with responsible parties for internal/external distribution. Work under minimal direction and is responsible for training and mentoring lower level technicians. Travel Position may require travel up to 5% of the time. Basic Qualifications (Required) Experience with relevant manufacturing processes and equipment, such as metal machining, composite manufacturing, assembly, and inspections. More than 1 year of experience working with complex engineering and/or manufacturing processes. More than 1 year of experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications. More than 1 year of experience collecting data from multiple sources, performing analysis and presenting data. More than 1 year of experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint. Preferred Qualifications (Desired) Level 3: More than 3 years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Level 4: More than 5 years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. More than 1 year of experience in aerospace, fabrication, or manufacturing environment. Summary pay range for Associate (Level 2): USD $76,500 – $103,500 Summary pay range for Experienced (Level 3): USD $95,200 – $128,800 Summary pay range for Senior (Level 4): USD $119,900 – $161,000 Work Location This position is expected to be 100% onsite.
